0W-30 Fully Synthetic Motor Oil

Over the years, not just engines and cars have advanced. The oil and lubricants we use in our vehicles have also advanced leaps and bounds. 0W-30 engine oil is just one of these developments. It’s been engineered to work with the modern stresses that more modern engines are put under.

Fully synthetic 0W-30 oil delivers exceptional protection for modern engines across all driving conditions and has been engineered with your vehicle’s efficiency in mind. It’s designed to offer the optimal viscosity at both low and high temperatures. It flows like a zero-weight oil even when it’s cold, but it keeps your parts protected in the same way as heavier oil.

Using fully synthetic motor oil can give you a surprising boost in fuel economy compared to thicker alternatives. It reduces friction between engine parts, which means less energy wasted and more miles from your tank. Many newer cars with start-stop technology particularly benefit from 0W30’s quick-flowing properties.

At Cox Motor Parts, we offer a selection of motor oils from Castrol, Mobil and Genuine Honda 0W-30 oil. We are confident in all the brands we stock, and each is certified by Honda. We also stock different grades of Honda engine oil if you need something different – all provide excellent protection against wear, sludge build-up and harmful deposits.

Not sure if 0W-30 is the right oil for you? We can help you find the right engine oil for your Honda, including OW-20 oil, OW-30 oil, 5W-30 oil and 5W-40 oil.

0W30 Engine Oil FAQs

The ‘0W’ refers to how the oil flows at cold temperatures – the lower the number, the better it flows when starting your engine on frosty mornings. The ’30’ indicates the viscosity of the oil at normal engine operating temperatures. 0W-30 gives you excellent cold-start protection while maintaining the right thickness to protect your engine once it’s warmed up.
Always check your vehicle’s handbook first. If 5W30 is specified, 0W30 can usually be used as an upgrade, offering better cold-weather starting and potentially improved fuel economy. However, some engines are specifically designed for 5W30, and changing could affect performance. If your car allows either option, 0W30 is typically better for very cold climates or frequent short journeys.
While it won’t cause immediate damage, mixing different oils isn’t ideal. Both are 30-weight oils when warm, but they flow differently when cold. If you’re in a pinch, temporarily topping up with a different grade is better than running low on oil. However, we recommend using the same grade at your next complete oil change. For the best engine protection, stick with one consistent type.
Many modern European vehicles specify 0W30, including certain models from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen Group (Audi, Volkswagen, SEAT, Škoda), and Volvo. Some Ford EcoBoost engines require it, as do various Japanese vehicles from manufacturers like Toyota and Honda. The best way to know for sure is to check your owner’s manual or use our registration checker to find the exact oil your specific model needs.
